Doraldina Quevedo of Nicaragua suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and lost the ability to walk many years ago. Her husband and three children have literally carried her from place to place because they couldn’t afford a wheelchair. After hearing their story, IMAHelps volunteers took up a collection amongst themselves and bought Doraldina a wheelchair.

Our volunteers find that helping others changes their lives, too, whether it’s re-igniting their interest in medicine or opening their minds and hearts to better appreciate everything we have in life and the positive feelings that come from helping those in need.
Prior to the start of each IMAHelps mission, approximately 3+ tons of cargo are sent ahead, including medical supplies, equipment and surgical sets - every thing needed to make the clinic fully operational.
Please help us raise funds for our upcoming medical humanitarian mission to Nicaragua, July 25th - Aug. 5th. We have raised $25,000 so far, but we need to raise $85,000 to reach our goal. Since we have no paid staff and pay for our own flights, every dollar donated translates into $100 to $200 in medical care. The items below are needed to make each mission a success.  Educational Materials We use educational materials to help educate patients in nutrition, hygiene and basic healthcare. We need to raise $500 to cover educational material expenses. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Cell and Internet Our senior team leaders rent cellphones and use Internet services to communicate with senior hospital staff and local authorities in the host country. We need to raise $500 to cover our cellphone and Internet service costs. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Storage Facilities We rent facilities to ensure safe storage of medicines, equipment and supplies that have been donated to us and that we have paid for with donations. We need to raise $1,000 to cover storage facility expenses. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Truck Rentals We rent trucks to transport equipment and supplies needed for our medical missions. We need to raise $1,000 to cover our truck rental costs. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Medicine and Medical Supplies We use our own medicine and medical supplies on our medical missions. We do this to ensure that we are able to provide surgeries and other critical healthcare services. We need to raise $4,000 to pay for medicine and medical supplies. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Dental Supplies Modern dental supplies are often difficult to find or unavailable in the host country. So we bring our own supplies for use by our volunteer dentists. We need to raise $5,000 to cover dental supplies. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Narcotics for Surgeries We need to purchase narcotics for surgery from vendors in the host country because it's difficult to clear narcotics through customs. We need to raise $6,000 for narcotics. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Bus Transportation We find that bus transportation is the safest and most efficient way to transport large numbers of volunteers. We need to raise $8,000 to cover bus transportation costs. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Shipping 3+ tons of Medical Supplies We typically ship 3 or more tons of medicines and medical supplies to the host country in advance of our medical missions to ensure that we have the supplies we need for a successful mission. We need to raise $10,000 for shipping costs. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Medicine Purchased in United States Much of the medicine IMAHelps volunteers use is purchased in the U.S., usually because the medicines we need are not readily available in the host country. We need to raise $20,000 to purchase medicine in the U.S.. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
 Food and Lodging for Volunteers IMAHelps volunteers pay for their own flights. They also pay for a portion of their food and lodging. Donations for food and lodging help ease the financial burden for IMAHelps volunteers. We need to raise $30,000 to cover food and lodging for our volunteers. This works out to $30/day for each volunteer. Any amount you can contribute helps. |
